Battery Development and Charging of Electric Vehicles
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The article focuses on the development of batteries used in electric vehicles. The stages of development of these batteries are presented, including their basic characteristics. A comparison of batteries and examples of their use in electric vehicles is then made. In addition to the development of batteries, there are graphs showing the evolution of the number of passenger vehicles, including electric vehicles, in the European Union. The article describes the charging options for electric vehicles, namely inductive charging, wireless charging and charging with a charging station and on-board charger. The final chapter describes the different algorithms used for charging the batteries. Battery charging is affected by several factors such as charging current amplitude, voltage and ambient temperature. There is a charging algorithm for charging which is different for different types of batteries. Selecting the appropriate charging algorithm prevents overcharging and overheating of the battery. The basic algorithms include charging with a constant current (CC) or constant voltage (CV), but there are also more advanced algorithms such as constant current and constant voltage CC/CV, multi-stage constant current charging (MSCC), constant voltage and constant current/ constant voltage (CVCC/CV), pulse current (PC) and pulse voltage (PV).
