PROPERTIES OF DIPHONIX RESIN FOR ACTINIDE EXTRACTION-SEPARATION UNDER DIFFERENT PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The work deals with the experimental determination of the extraction-separation properties of solid extrahent DIPHONIX (Eichrom Industries, USA) depending on the used mobile phase and eluent. Extraction properties were tested for americium, plutonium and uranium under both static and dynamic conditions. Hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and sodium hydroxide, and phosphate buffer solutions of various concentrations were used as the mobile phase to cover a wide range of pH. 1-hydroxyethane 1,1-diphosphonic acid (HEDP, Etidronic Acid) was used as eluent as the most common one according to literature. Oxalate and citrate were selected as additional potential eluents based on their complexing properties with actinides as stated in literature. The goal was to determine the most suitable combination of mobile phase and eluent to gain the highest yield possible and to achieve conditions for maximum separation. Activities of the samples were measured by liquid scintillation via Automatic TDCR Liquid Scintilation Counter Hidex 300 SL.
