This material analyses position and competiveness of the Czech Republic in international comparison of innovation performance. The paper is based on international comparison of innovation performance according to the European Innovation Scoreboard 2008 (EIS 2008) and on comparison of competitiveness according to the Global Competiveness Report 2008-2009 prepared for the World Economic Forum. The support of innovation from the programmes of the Ministry of industry and trade and from the Competiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) and venture capital utilization for supporting innovation are analysed as well.
