L'objectif principal de cet article est de représenter la période de l'histoire ottomane régionale (a partir de 16.-17. siecle) souvent négligée, décrite par les chroniqueurs arméniens de l'Anatolie orientale (Arménie occidentale historique). Cet articletraite par priorité la réputation de la population arménienne vivante côte a côte avec d'autres minorités a la périphérie de l'empire et aborde leurs relations au cours de la période antérieure a l'émergence et au développement du nationalisme radical.En analysant les sources primaires (les chroniques et les colophons arméniens généralement de la région du lac de Van), nous pouvons identifier plusieurs façons de la perception des Autres comme un ennemi ou un voisin, selon la personnalité de l'auteur.Textes de chroniques montrent une grande variété des attitudes envers la catégorie des musulmans et des hérétiques (du point de vue de l'Eglise apostolique arménienne), ils fournissent également une excursion ethnologique intéressante dan

The main goal of this article is to represent the period of regional Ottoman history (from 16.-17. century) often neglected, described by Armenian chroniclers from Eastern Anatolia, historical Western Armenia. This paper deals with the standing of the Armenian population side by side with other minorities on the periphery of empire and their relations during the period before the emergence and development of radical nationalism. By analyzing primary sources (chronicles and colophons generally from the region of Lake Van) we can identify several ways of perception of Other as an Enemy or as a Neighbor, depending on the author?s personality. Texts of chronicles show a variety of attitudes towards the category of Muslims and Heretics (from the point of view of Armenian Apostolic Church), they also provide an interesting ethnological excursion into everyday reality and life of local population at that time.
