Quality of the information system significantly influences the competitiveness of a company. Information and data saved in the information system have become one of the most important corporate assets, especially when used in connection with relevant experience and knowledge. Farmers need to make their decisions on the basis of quality data and information. Primary data are typically recorded while their content is not exploited at all - unless they are further processed and used for analyses, modellingand simulations. Agriculture is a very specific sector - it is therefore very hard to use modules of the management information systems made primarily for other industries. Farm management information systems allow users to perform analyses, simulationsand modelling. In the Czech Republic, information and data mining for managerial purposes in the agrarian sector has been on a very low level in the long-term. The survey showed that only 7% of companies use Business Intelligence softwar
