Tourism had become one of the most important sectors in the world economy, accounting for 10 percent of global GDP and more than 320 million jobs worldwide. This paper aims to specify the impact of the economic crisis associated with the COVID 19 pandemic on tourism in the Czech Republic in an international context. For the purposes of the paper, economic indicators in the years 2005 to 2020 are analyzed on the basis of CZSO documents. The impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on tourism in the Czech Republic is addressed in terms of the development and seasonality of domestic, incoming and outgoing tourism. According to research, the largest decline was in outbound tourism. The number of accommodated nonresidents decreased the most in 2020 in Q2 and Q4, by 95 percent compared to the seasonal averages 2005 to 2019. The total decrease of non-residents accommodated in collective accommodation establishments in 2020 was 8,099,403. The number of accommodated residents also decreased, by a total of 3,107,497. L
