Die christliche Motivik, Thematik und Symbolik taucht in der Literatur über die Flucht und Vertreibung der Deutschen aus den tschechoslowakischen Gebieten seit den 1940er Jahren auf. Im Aufsatz werden literarische Verfahren und ihre Implikationen für Erinnerungsnarrative über die Vertreibung analysiert, die in Romanen und Erzählungen der deutschsprachigen Schriftsteller in den 1970er und der 1980er Jahren vorkommen. Die christliche Tradition bildet zwar für diese Texte einen gemeinsamen deutenden Rahmen, aber die Selektion und Funktionalisierung der Motive unterscheidet sich in den einzelnen Texten.

Christian motifs, themes and symbols have appeared in literature on flight and expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia since the 1940s. The article analyzes literary techniques and their implications for the narratives of the expulsion which can be found in novels and short stories published by German-speaking writers in the 1970s and 1980s. Although the Christian tradition presents a common interpretative basis for these texts, the selection and functionalization of the motifs differ in the particular texts.
