The globe is currently dealing with serious environmental and climate-related problems, including energy shortages, ecosystem collapse, and global warming. In this regard, the study used the Method of Moment Quantile Regression (MMQR) to carefully examine the effects of geopolitical risks (GPR), economic complexity (EC), renewable energy (RE), and nuclear energy on the environmental impact of the Group of Seven (G7) countries. Data from 1995 to 2022 were chosen for this study. The findings show that trade (TR) and RE greatly lessen the ecological footprint in nations with lower quantiles. Economic complexity negatively impacts the ecological footprint, and this effect gets more prominent as the ecological footprint's quantile increases. Furthermore, the impact of GPR on the ecological footprint is mitigated by RE. Risks related to geopolitics aid in the expansion of the ecological footprint. This study has carried out a thorough investigation of G7 environmental concerns, providing innovative viewpoints and suggestions for accomplishing objectives linked to the efficient use of energy, the mitigation of climate change, and the enhancement of the ecological environment. The results of this study will direct G7 officials toward the adoption of more potent environmental protection policies, helping to build a more sustainable future.
