Platypezidae, In: Barták, M., Vaňhara, J., (eds.) Diptera in an Industially Affected Region (North Bohemia, Bílina and Duchcov Environs) I
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Information on the species spectrum of flat-footed flies (Opetiidae and Platypezidae) and its quality, expressed by the Species Quality Index (cf. VAŇHARA 1995), makes it possible to estimate and comment on the quality of the environs as well as the industrialized landscape of Northwest Bohemia under study. Essentially, there is a direct sequence leading from species richness (of flat-footed flies) and site quality expressed by the S.Q.I., through the species composition of mycoflora (fruiting bodies offungi as hosts of larval flat-footed flies), trees as the mycorrhizal hosts of fungi or quality of humus produced in a particular habitat, up to ecosystems, the status of which is determined by the quality of all the above levels. The knowledge of the species spectrum is affected by the duration and intensity of exploration in a given area. The greatest species richness and the highest values of the S.Q.I. are only found in the best preserved and natural forest ecosystems (19 spp. found
