Factor analysis as a tool for the determination of the origin of potentially risk elements in soils
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Distinguishing between different sources of risk elements in soils is a difficult task in the areas where more sources act together. There are several methods commonly used for distinguishing between anthropogenic and geogenic sources of risk elements. The aim of this study was to assess the contribution of different sources of selected potentially risk elements in soils of relatively non-polluted areas of the Czech Republic using factor analysis. Soil samples were collected from surface and subsurfacehorizons on 14 localities in the mountainous regions of Northern and North-eastern parts of the Czech Republic. The total content of Be, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, and Zn in soil was determined speciation of these risk elements was studied. Cadmium, Pb,Hg, and to a lower extent also Cu, showed generally an enrichment in the surface horizons. The other elements had approximately the same content in the two horizons or they showed an increase with depth, indicating thus rather geogenic or
