Biometric observations of the pure bred Arabian population, breeding in the Czech Republic

In the Czech Republic arabian horses are breeding in the three forms - as Shagya-Arab, Full-blooded Arab and Pure Bred Arab. In connection with the successive typology analysis of Shagya-arabs, a similar investigation of Full-blooded Arabs (32) was conducted. Values of the body measurements were obtained and compared with results form Janow Podlaski (Poland, JP) and Tersk (USSR, T) to find out the statistical significant differences. The mares breeding in the Czech Republic are taller, but with lighterbones in comparison with the mares form Janow Podlaski. They have lighter bone and longer body size then the mares form Tersk. The sires form JP and T have bigger size of the thorax depth (statistical significant difference), but here is possible the subjective mistake of the measurements. At the same time the hipometric indexes were determined as used in CZ and the results were compared with the data from JP and T.
