Three species of Ditomyiidae were found in the study area (= 75 % of the total Czech fauna). Two of them (D. fasciata and S. annulatus) are relatively common and widely distributed. Both are recorded also from the Bílina and Duchcov environs (MARTINOVSKÝ& BARTÁK 2000) and from the Pálava Biosphere Reserve (MARTINOVSKÝ & ŠEVČÍK 1998). On the other hand, the species D. macroptera is extremely rare and this record confirms its present occurrence in the Czech Republic. The species was included in the recent regional Red list as critically endangered (ŠEVČÍK 2005a).
