Only a single species of the family Hypodermatidae (7 females caught by Malaise trap) was found in the area under study (= 20 % of the total Czech fauna). Hypoderma diana is a parasite of cervids and it is distributed all over our country (MINÁŘ 1980) together with its hosts. Hypoderma diana has a considerably wide range of hosts, the major one being the European roe deer, however, it also parasitizes other cervid species. Larvae of this species have been found, especially in the past decades, also on chamois, moufflon, four species of African antelopes kept in captivity, and on horses (MINÁŘ 1995). The same (and only) species was found also in Bílina and Duchcov environs (MINÁŘ & BARTÁK 2001) and in the Pálava BR (MINÁŘ 1999) it was found together with Cephenemyia stimulator (Clark, 1851), a specific parasite of roe deer.
