Relationships between Body Condition and Production, Reproduction and Health Traits in Holstein Cows.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The relationships between body condition and its changes during calving period and milk production, reproduction traits and health problems were investigated in this study. Holstein cows (n = 99) on a commercial dairy farm were scored monthly for body condition beginning at 3 weeks before calving and continuing until 10 months of lactation. Milk production and reproduction data were received from the milk recording and insemination databases records. Occurrences of postpartum health disorders were recorded at the herd. The effect of body condition scoring (BCS) on milk production in 100, 200, and 305 days lactations, on interval, AI index, and open days period was not consistent. Change of BCS in the first month of lactation had statistically significant effect on interval and health disorders (P < 0.05). Biggest positive and significant correlations were counted between BCS before calving and BCS change in 2nd or 3rd month of lactation (r = 0.390 till 0.846), and between BCS before ca
