Evaluation of milk production results in selected goat herds
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The objective of this study was to evaluate the results of milk yield and milk composition in selected herds of goats. The data from 382 lactations of Czech White Shorthaired Goats and Czech Brown Shorthaired Goats were obtained from 12 farms in two regions of the Czech Republic (South Bohemia and North Bohemia) from 2004 to 2006 and statistically evaluated. The data were analyzed by General Linear Model (GLM) using SAS STAT. We determined the effect of year, breed, region, herd size, season of birthing, parity, and the individual farm on the milk yield, fat, protein and lactose yield and content during 280 days of lactation. We also evaluated the correlation coefficients among all these traits. The year had a significant effect on milk yield, fat, protein and lactose content (P < 0.001). Our findings confirmed that breed significantly affected milk, fat, protein, and lactose yield and protein and lactose content (P < 0.001). Herd size had a significant effect on milk, fat, protein and
