The experiences of building CZESOTER - Czech form of SOTER in the scale 1:250,000
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
We are presenting our experiences which may be useful for other countries. Digitizing of classical soil maps and the use of legacy data may bring several problems. The three of them are discussed in our contribution. They consist of modifications of theSOTER methodology to be suitable for the coungry under study, design and classification of soil associations, soil scapes and soil regions, and correction of the area occupied by alluvial soils. In our opinion the soils capes and regions should be set upin an ascendant way based on the map of associations and harmonized assessment of geomorphology. A problem with the conversion of classical soil maps into digitized form also occured with the area occupied by Fluvisols and other soils typical for alluvial areas, which were exaggerated in the original map. Two approaches were tested to correct this problem.
