Bisphenol A and its analogues – occurence and impact on wild animals and animal models
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are group of contaminants that can interfere with hormones and impair hormone synthesis and whole body metabolism. One of the most known EDCs is bisphenol A (BPA) widely produced in the world. BPA is used in numerous products and applications, including polycarbonate plastic, the lining of metal food cans, some dental sealants and thermal receipt paper, food and water preparation and storage vessels, household products and many other uses. The pervasiveness of this chemical predicts widespread and continued exposure of animals and humans. Due to its negative impact on environment, health status in animals and people BPA has been gradually replaced by another chemicals - alternatives to BPA. These chemicals are known as BPA analogues such as bisphenol B (BPB), bisphenol F (BPF), bisphenol S (BPS), etc. Research on effect of these analogues on aquatic and terrestrial environment as well as health, performance, especially reproduction of
