Theysohn pheromone traps were used for monitoring flight activity of bark beetles. Ten traps were installed in a line at a distance of about 20 m from the infested forest edge with a 15 m spacing between two adjacent traps at two study areas in the CzechRepublic in 2010 and 2011. Traps were baited with IT Ecolure or ID Ecolure; the lures were alternated regularly. Trapping took place from April to September with traps checked in three-day intervals in 2010 and in seven-day intervals in 2011. A linear correlation was determined between the captures of Ips typographus and Ips duplicatus beetles in both years. This suggests that the phenological models of the two species are very similar.
