The contribution introduces the newly developed PostCont technological system. The system is designed for the containerization of bare-rooted planting stock of trees and shrubs in pots made from recycled paper. This technology aims to combine the advantages of both bare-rooted and container planting stock. The quality of the PostCont planting stock is currently being verified through various methods. Initial results indicate that the roots of the PostCont plants grow freely through the walls of the paper pots without deformities. The PostCont planting stock meets the requirements of the Czech technical standard ČSN 48 2115 “Forest reproductive material”. The PostCont planting stock will be tested in the conversion of black locust stands in the forests of the city of Prague. The use of the PostCont plants in the conversion experiment will be shortly described.
