Abstract The IENE conferences have a long-standing tradition, with this year’s event following the successful meetings in Évora (2020) and Cluj (2022). This year, the conference took place in the „heart of Europe“—the beautiful city of Prague. Organized by the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, the event was held under the auspices of Petr Hladík, Minister of the Environment, and Petr Sklenička, Rector of the Czech University of Life Sciences. It was also supported by the Roads and Motorways Directorate of the Czech Republic, the City Hall of Prague, and other co-organizers and sponsors. The Czech University of Life Sciences provided a modern and welcoming venue for the participants. Conference brought together 325 in-person and 52 online attendees from almost 40 countries, all eager to address the challenges posed by future transport systems on biodiversity. The theme of the conference, “Biodiversity in the Light of Future Transport,” highlighted the urgent need to reconcile technological progress with the protection of biodiversity, especially in the face of climate change and its effects on transport systems and technologies. New perspectives and approaches were presented at the keynote and plenary lectures. For the first time, the topic of the necessary limits to growth and the need for a profound change in transport development toward global sustainability, was open. Over the course of the event, 125 presentations were delivered across 18 parallel sessions, complemented by 10 discussion sections and panel debates. Additionally, 45 authors presented their research through posters. A unique highlight of the conference was an exhibition of drawings by elementary school children, which captured the interest of participants and added a creative touch to the event. The conference culminated in the adoption of a declaration that summarized the key topics and ideas discussed throughout the event. This document serves as a roadmap for future research and policy initiatives aimed at reducing the impact of transport on biodiversity. The inspiring environment of the Czech University of Life Sciences campus, combined with the enthusiasm of all attendees, made this conference an exceptional platform for the exchange of knowledge, fostering collaboration, and driving new initiatives aimed at reducing the impacts of transport on biodiversity.
