Economic instruments of support of the innovations implementation in forestry in the Czech Republic

The main objective of the forest management is not only elementary preservation of forests but also sustainable forest management. Forest management cannot fall back in the dynamically developing world. It presents a significant element affecting development of rural landscape. At the same time, in modern European economies, the support of innovations and new enterprises are being designed to play key roles in their development. However, implementation of innovations involves high costs and that is whythe government is expected to help to finance these activities. At present, there is no instrument in the Czech Republic, which would treat these issues. This paper outlines options of utilisation of some economic instruments of support for the implementation of innovations in forest management in the Czech Republic. The instruments are divided by their relationships to the state support into taxations and subsidies. Possible utilisation should be a part of a particular policy.
