Testing extraction methods for the determination of potentially toxic forms of aluminum in soil samples
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Toxicity of Al represents a problem in acidified forest soils. On a set of 27 samples collected from different horizons of forest soils, several extraction methods for Al determination were tested. KCl solution at molarities 0.1, 0.5, 1, and 2 mol.L-1 for the extraction of exchangeable Al, CuCl2 solution at molarities 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, and 1 mol.L-1 for the extraction of weakly bound organic Al, and Na4P2O7 at 0.05 and 0.1 mol.L-1 for the extraction of strongly organically bound Al were used. Increasing molarity of KCl solution extracted higher Al content, however, these differences were not significant except for 0.1M KCl. No difference was found between different molarities of CuCl2. The Al content extracted with the two molarities of Na4P2O7 was also almost identical. The KCl extraction can be used also for the HPLC measurement that provides a deeper insight in the speciation of Al forms. Tested extraction methods are quite robust and present a good tool for the determination of potent
