The study deals with plans for the reconstruction of the Old Town Hall in Prague and the neo-Gothic renovation carried out in the 1830s and 1840s. It shows the role played by Count František Thun in saving the monuments of Czech Gothic architecture and analyses his political and aesthetic views.
