Poster: Selective Removal of Cu from Acid Mine Waters by the Combination of Ion Exchange and Electro-Winning.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Selective removal of Cu from acid mine water containing excess of Fe and other accompanying metals was studied using model solutions having composition based on mine water from abandoned mines in Roros region in Norway. The work was focused on the selectivity of the process and waste minimization. For this purpose a combination of ion exchange with consequent electro winning of Cu from regenerant solution was selected. Chelating ion exchanger Dowex XFS-43084 was used for Cu removal. During the sorptioncycle Cu was removed with high selectivity and could be easily stripped by sulfuric acid solution. Fe was not taken up by this sorbent and remained almost quantitatively in the treated acid mine water. It was proven that after the electro-winning of Cu it is possible to reuse the treated sulfuric acid solution for regeneration ion exchanger. Fe concentration in the spent sulfuric acid solution increased with every repeated regeneration. However, it was demonstrated that even the Fe conce
