Poster: Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopic Study of Electrochemical Ferrate (VI) Synthesis.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
High oxidation strength of ferrate (it means ferrate(VI) throughout this text) is a reason of a special attention paid to this compound during the last decade. Ferrates find application as powerful oxidizing agents in chemical industry as well as in environmental chemistry or as a high capacity source of cathodic charge for so called "super iron" battery. Due to its high redox potential ferrate is highly unstable in the water environment. Since theirs stability increases with increasing solution pH, they are produced always in a strongly alkaline environment. Ferrates can be prepared by chemical and electrochemical methods. Although the latter method provides product of higher purity and avoids application of toxic compounds as oxidants during the synthesis, it didn't reach so sophisticated level as the chemical route yet. The reason is together with high operating costs the fact that solid ferrate couldn't be prepared from recycled anolyte solution. This problem has been solved re
