Přednáška: Influence of copper on corrosion properties of palladium-silver alloys
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Palladium-based dental alloys represent one of the alternative materials used in stomatology. The objective of the presented study was to ascertain the changes in the corrosion behaviour of a palladium-silver binary system resulting from its alloying with copper. The measurements were conducted on ternary PdAgCu alloys and on a set of binary PdAg alloys in model saliva solution. A standard set of electrochemical measurements was performed, supplemented with an analysis of the materials behaviour under the conditions of artificially induced crevice corrosion. The alloying of the palladium-silver system with copper leads to a significant change in the corrosion properties. The influence of silver, which is dominant in binary systems, is suppressed in PdAgCu alloys due to the presence of copper. Alloying with this element brings about a change in the mechanism of interaction with model saliva. A significant feature of the PdAgCu alloys corrosion behaviour, as compared with the PdAg system
