Kinetics of methoxylation reaction was studied in three electrode arrangement using rotating disc electrode (RDE) with GC disc as a working electrode. Batch electrolysis was performed in three electrode arrangement as well. As a working electrode servedGC plate. Counter and reference electrode were Pt grid/sheet and SCE (sat. KCl), respectively. Experiments were performed in methanol with either NaClO4 or KF as a supporting electrolyte. Kinetics of the methoxylation reactions was calculated either fromlinear sweep voltammograms or Electrochemical Impedance Spectra and described by means of Tafel equation. Correction of recorded voltammograms for presence of the uncompensated resistance of the electrolyte and the background current was provided. The activation energies of the individual methoxylation reaction steps were calculated from experimental data. An important difference between NaClO4 and KF follows from measured cyclic voltammograms. NaClO4 is clearly inactive in the entire r
