Titania sol-gel coating with silver on non-porous titanium and titanium alloys
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The objective of the work was to prepare and characterize titania sol-gel coatings on non-porous titanium and titanium alloys. Titanium substrates (Ti, TiSi5, TiSi10) were mechanically tretated. Basic titania sol contained two forms of silver (AgNO3, Ag3PO4). Titania sol without silver was used as a reference sample. Coatings were prepared by dip-coating technique during stirring and fired at 400°C. Coatings after firing were characterized by electron microscopy. All titania coatings were measured to determine their adhesive and bactericidal properties. Adhesion of the coatings to the substrate was measured by tape test (ASTM D 3359-2), where the cut area was evaluated visually by optical microscope. Gram-negative bacteria E. coli (strain DBM 3138) wasused for the bactericidal test. Coated substrates were imersed into suspension of E. coli in physiological solution for a period of 24 and 4 hours at laboratory temperature. Cytotoxicity of the materials was also tested. Coated substrate
