Traditional and Modern Approaches to the Characterization of Complex Mixtures
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
For complex mixtures, particularly oil and oil fractions, it is shown how to convert experimental characterization data to a convenient description usable in the modeling and simulation of technological processes. The "continuous" character of such mixtures given by the presence of a very high number of hardly traceable components requires to utilize approximate characterization techniques the overview of which is presented including component lumping, continuous thermodynamic and wavelets and substitute mixtures of pseudocomponents and compared with newer approach based on substitute mixtures of real components. Crucial question is how to gain the thermodynamic properties and describe the phase equilibrium, which is discussed for each of the approaches mentioned. In order to illustrate the significance of the characterization methods, a number of modeling and/or simulation applications based on the employment of substitute mixtures are mentioned.
