Stability of Identification Marks Based On Selected Transition And Inner Transition Metals
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The use of fluorescence of selected elements for the formulation of identification marks for different purposes is the interesting phenomenon. This study is a partial output of extensive research that deals with identification marks based on the presence of selected transition metals, which are designed for application to cellulosic substrates. This research was supported by project VI20162019037 funded by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. The partial aim of the research is to clarify whether there are some negative effects on the long term stability of identification mark. Distortion of the encoded information or its complete loss could occur if the signal provided by the identification mark is changed over time. The aim of the study is therefore to verify the stability of these identification marks on cellulosic substrates. For this purpose, test codes based on the presence of oxides of 5 different elements from the transition metal group were printed on three types of paper (Whatman no. 1, sulphate pulp and paper according to ISO 9706). The signal of the codes was measured using XRF spectroscopy. Then the samples were subjected to accelerated aging by moist heat, dry heat and by combination of daylight and UV light. After that, the signal of the codes was re-measured again in the same way. Comparisons based on peak height of the coding elements in XRF spectrum were made and changes due to aging were calculated.
