Optimization of Yttrium Incorporation in 316L Steel and Pure Iron via High-Energy Milling
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This study investigates the influence of mechanical alloying (MA) parameters on the microstructure and phase composition of oxide dispersion-strengthened (ODS) steels based on Fe and 316L stainless steel matrices. High-energy ball milling with yttrium hydride (YH₂) and yttria (Y₂O₃) was used to achieve nano-oxide dispersion, followed by spark plasma sintering. Results show that optimized MA conditions, particularly the exclusion of process control agents (PCAs), prevent carbide formation and promote uniform yttrium distribution. The study highlights the critical role of process control and matrix composition in achieving high-performance ODS steels with enhanced hardness and microstructural stability.
