The Optimum Assessment of the Number and Location of Distribution Warehouses
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Optimum location of distribution warehouses is an important partial task of optimization of logistic channels. Determination of positions of distribution warehouses is a complex decision-making process depending on many information pieces, which are often insufficiently quantifiable. A basic assumption of the process is determination of the number of distribution warehouses and assessment of their approximate positions. Different location models are used according to characteristics of a distribution space. The models simplify problem of location and remove or evade some difficulties of location process. The formulated problem of assessment of the number and location of distribution warehouses can be solved in sequence by functions and tools of a spreadsheet program. It is an advantage that the course of optimization can be controlled. A model of location with a complex goal function can be used. Distances among objects can be computed by means of various location models as well.
