The contribution is devoted to philosophy and possibilities of creation of multiproduct batch process models created in Witness 2001 simulator by means of discrete elements. Witness 2001 simulator for discrete event system simulation enables relatively simple creation of models for multiproduct batch processes. They are possible to be modelled as discrete or continuous systems. A model can be created for certain multiproduct process at which the run of a short-term production plan created according to demands of customers can be verified and modifications of the plan can be carried out. Bottlenecks can be identified by analysis of aggregated reports of process simulation run. Ways of their elimination can be suggested and expedience of thedesigned actions can be verified. The base is the effort at minimization of the makespan for all the demanded products. The models are created so as variant short-term manufacturing plans and their modification can be verified by user-simple ways.
