Gas hold-up and power input in two- and three-phase dual-impeller stirred reactor
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The values of gas hold-up and power input were measured in the tank stirred by two stirrers placed on the same shaft. The overall gas hold-up was calculated from measured surface elevation caused by aeration. The height of the dispersion in the vessel was measured by means of external manometer with inclined manometric tube.. The used gas was air. The solid phases were the glass and plastic particles and their concentrations were up to 30% w/w. The liquid was either water (coalescing system) or 0.5 M solution sodium sulphate or 0.1 M ethanol solution (non-coalescing systems). The higher gas hold-up was observed in non-coalescing systems. The presence of solid particles had ambiguous effect on gas hold-up: in water was not observed the influence of solids, in sulphate and ethanol solutions the gas hold-up decreased with the concentration of solid particles.
