Computer Visualization of Three-Dimensional Biomedical Data
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper presents selected possibilities of biomedical data visualization. The data studied in this contribution are acquired by standard medicine investigation with MRI and SPECT methods. Data obtained using these methods can be presented as a three-dimensional image which corresponds to a 3D volume model. Surface model of selected object provides another option of representation the given data. A process of extracting information concerning selected object only from a 3D image could be very complicated as it depends on the quality of original data. Its solution is connected with the problems of noise rejection, edge detection, image resolution and others. The presented paper is focused on the possibilities of object contour detection from the 3D data with a respect to the requirements of its following surface modelling. Fourier transform and methods of mathematical morphology are used as basic mathematical tool to process the data both in two and three dimensions.
