Liquid and vapor phase sorption experiments of methanol and water and their mixtures in Nafion(R)112 membrane at temperature of 298.15 K were under study. The swelling measurements of systems pure water, pure methanol and methanol/water mixtures were carried out at temperature of 298.15 K and at atmospheric pressure. Membrane sample with size 5x5 mm was cut off from supply sheet and fixed by pike inside measuring Teflon cell. Whole cell with fixed sample was located into temperature-controlled oven. Swelling on Nafion in water is approximately three times lower than in methanol and maximal value of swelling was reached for methanol/water mixture containing 75 % of methanol. Vapor phase measurements were performed by gravimetric method and from experimental data the sorption isotherms were evaluated.
