Prediction of power consumption in mechanically agitated gassed reactor in viscous batch
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Transport characteristics such as volumetric mass transfer coefficients kLa, power input P, gas hold-up ? and mixing time tm are the key parameters in the design of mechanically agitated gas-liquid contactors. To their successful design the values of thekey parameters could be estimated using correlation equation. Power input in this case is very often used as the scale of energy dissipation for other characteristics. Our goal is to propose reliable power input correlation for viscous batches. These batches are widely used in industry. The measurements were carried in a pilot-plant vessel and, moreover, results from laboratory vessel were also used to develop the correlations. Different types of impellers and their combinations were used, including radial, axial and combined liquid flow impellers. The power input was measured in the multiple-impeller vessel for different impeller frequencies and several gas flow rates. Correlation equations describing behavior of particular impellers
