Study of morphological and optical properties of thin Ag layers prepared by pulsed laser deposition at glancing angle configuration
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In this paper, the possibility of fabricating black silver thin films with high optical absorbance in the visible region using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) in a glancing angle configuration accompanied by a slow substrate rotation was investigated. The films were prepared at the deposition angles of 0 degrees, 82 degrees, 85 degrees, 87 degrees and 89 degrees, which were analyzed primarily by SEM and spectroscopic ellipsometry. It was shown that at high deposition angles, there is a significant change in the optical properties (samples prepared at increasing deposition angles show a red shift in the absorbance peak and its broadening). The work demonstrated that using the PLD method performed at a high deposition angle (with a constant rotation of the substrate) it is possible to prepare thin porous layers consisting of silver nanoparticles, while their parameters (size, shape, density, etc.) and related optical properties can be changed with the angle of deposition. This offers the possibility of using this technique for the preparation of thin functional Ag coatings, which could eventually find adequate applications.
