Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
OBJECTIVES: The paper explores opinion of Czech social workers engaged in field work with families living in overcrowded housing on their field experience including competences they apply and consider useful. THEORETICAL BASE: The theoretical background draws on the contemporary discourse on competences in social work, which does not explicitly work with specifics of working with families living in overcrowded housing. METHODS: To fulfil the goal qualitative research strategy, semi-structured interviews and the situational analysis method were used. OUTCOMES: Participants apply not only competences relevant to working with families in general, but also some competences specific to the context of overcrowding: active listening, sensitive observation or skills of understanding of simultaneous communication. SOCIALWORK IMPLICATIONS: Based on research findings, recommendations for enhanced training of professionals working with families and social work students are formulated.
