Das Buch bietet einen Einblick in das ganze Spektrum philologischer Emotionsforschung, wobei sowohl theoretische als auch methodische Probleme behandelt und zahlreiche Texte aus den unterschiedlichsten Referenzbereichen sowie früherer Epochen exemplarisch analysiert und interpretiert werden. Im Rahmen der einzelnen Analysen werden lautliche/graphische, lexikalische, grammatische sowie textuelle Mittel vorgestellt, die für die betreffenden Texte charakteristisch sind, und es wird darauf hingewiesen, wieeng die Emotionalität des Textes und Vertextungsstrategien zusammenhängen und wie sie durch das Zusammenspiel von Bild und Text beeinflusst werden kann.

The book offers an insight into the entire spectrum of philological research into emotions, focusing on both theoretical and methodological issues connected with this research as well as presenting a range of analyses and interpretations of texts from various fields and historical periods. The individual analyses cover the graphic/auditory, lexical, grammatical and textual means that characterize individual types of texts. The analyses confirm that emotionality in texts is closely connected with text structure and is strongly influenced by the relationship between words/texts and images.
