Le verbe ou?r est caractérisé dans les ressources lexicographiques faisant autorité (Le Grand Robert 2001, Le Petit Robert 2014 et Le TLF) en tant que défectif et vieilli, ? partir du XVIIe si?cle est substitué par le verbe entendre. La restriction de l?emploi de ses formes conjuguées a eu pour conséquence la sélectivité de son figement combinatoire se reflétant dans la formation de groupements de mots fixes. En fonction de 199 exemplifications de notre corpus au nombre de 11 176 247 de mots, tiré de Frantext, dont la taille est restreinte aux textes postérieurs ? l?an 2000, nous pouvons prouver le maintien de ce verbe au sein de collocations et d?expressions figées dans l?expression écrite du français contemporain, ainsi que sa capacité ? produire descombinaisons innovantes de sa valence actancielle attestée.

Lexicographic resources (Le Grand Robert 2001, Le Petit Robert 2014 and Le TLF) treat the French verb ou?r as defective and archaic; it has been replaced and substituted by the verb entendre since the 17th century. A limited use of some of its grammatical forms results in the verb?s restricted collocation profile and this quality gives rise to new collocates with an inherent or figurative meaning. Based on the analysis of 199 occurrences of the verb in literary texts published from the year 2000 onwards, itis possible to treat the verb ou?r as part of the contemporary French word-stock within which the verb enters relatively established collocates and idioms, but it also participates in forming new collocates.
