En las últimas décadas, los escritores españoles comenzaron a abordar los temas históricos de una manera nueva. Al principio, trataron temas relacionados con la Guerra Civil española. Posteriormente, aparecieron temas como el terrorismo, el nacionalismo o el de la Transición española. Basándonos en los trabajos teóricos sobre el papel de la memoria histórica/memoria colectiva, en nuestro estudio tratamos de discutir la literatura española contemporánea que refleja los procesos de la Transición. A partir de los comentarios de dos novelas escritas por autores de la llamada «generación de la posmemoria», mostramos cómo ha cambiado recientemente la imagen del período de la Transición y cómo la literatura ha contribuido a la petrificación de esta imagen.

In recent decades, Spanish writers began to approach historical themes in a new way. At first, they dealt with themes related to the Spanish Civil War. Later on, topics such as terrorism, nationalism or the consensus of the Spanish Transition itself appeared. Based on theoretical works on the role of historical memory/collective memory, in our paper we will try to discuss contemporary Spanish literature that reflects the processes of Transition that took place after Franco's death. Based on comments of two novels written by authors of so called “postmemory generation”, we try to show how the image of Transition period has recently changed and how literature has contributed to the petrification of this image.
