Autor in his work focuses on development of Protestant Churches in the totalitarian regimes. The development of the relations between the state and church went through the following periodical sections: The period from 1945 to 1948. The period of preparing a new ?church policy? from the power take-over by the communist party in February 1948 to April 1949. The period of implementing the new church policy? by using the means of power and persecution, April 1949 - 1956 (1953 is an internal milestone - thepower-administration pressure was introduced instead of direct persecution). The period after 1956 when the communist party reassessed its attitude to churches again. It realised that it had lost the ideological fight with religion and contented itselfwith a belief that it fully controlled and managed the internal life of the churches. 1968-1989 - the differences between the official leadership of the church and groups of engaged Christians were deepening.
