The paper deals with the process of proposal and production of the Rubens tube for demonstration of longitudinal standing wave for the lesson of physics. The Rubens tube is not expanded in education and it is a pity that teachers know it mainly as a description of experiment from a physical literature. The author describes own process of proposal, production and optimization of parameters - size, material and technological. In the paper there are stated possibilities of experiments in frame of educationand popularisation of physics and technologies. The Rubens tube was successfully made and its function was verified.
