The article deals with possibilities of realization of speech therapy for children with visual impairment or blindness, in terms of modification of methods of work, aids, and environment with emphasis on ensuring conditions for visual hygiene. There are two types of speech therapists operating in the Czech Republic described. The second part of the paper presents research focused on the specifics of speech therapy in children with visual impairment or blindness, attended by 103 clinical speech therapists working under the Ministry of Health in the whole Czechia.
