The Static Solution of a Steel Arch of Mining Support Structure
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Steel arches are widely used as a support of long mine excavations. They are also used in underground engineering. The steel arch support usually consists of three and more circular segments connected by a screw joints or clamp connections. Some of the segments can be also straight in special cases. The assembled structure of the arch allows creating a variety of shapes. Each circular segment is defined by its length, radius and cross-section. The straight segment has theoretically infinite radius. Fromthe static point of view the structure is two-hinged arch. A load is considered as uniform distributed in vertical and horizontal direction. Load bearing capacity of the arch is usually solved according to linear elastic theory. Structural stiffness ofthe steel arches is rather small compared to real value of the loads in underground. A deformation of the structure is reasonable and it is often a source of errors in the linear solution. Therefore, the linear solution does not meet the
