Colour stability of pine, beech and spruce wood treated with acrylic coating superwax at accelerated weathering in xenotest
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Durability and aesthetical characteristics of wooden products exposed in exteriors are influenced by more factors: - wood species, treatment of wood, severity of exposure. In this study, the effects of accelerated weathering in Xenotest with alternationof UV-light irradiation and water spray on the colour stability of selected wood species (Stocs pine - Pinus sylvestris L., beech - Fagus sylvatica L., and Norway spruce - Picea abies Karst. L.) treated with 1, 2 or 3 layers of the brown-pigmented acrylic coating Superwax were investigated. Colour analyses were performed by measuring CIE-L*a*b* parameters. The results show that the lowest colour stability had beech wood treated only with 1 layer of the acrylic coating. On the other hand, the best resistance against discoloration had spruce wood with 3 layers of this coating.
