The authors describe the effect of the contribution of mining works on the railway infrastructure, especially on tracks and switch constructions, including the related objects. Effects of mining activities are often the cause of many problems in different types of objects. Traffic construction, however, their line-specific character in a certain way. This specificity is mainly due to the fact that these structures are involved in all parts of the area subsidence, so they are negatively affected by subsidences and inclinations, and horizontal shifts in the longitudinal and transverse directions. Impacts of mining works manifest themselves not only on traffic constructions, but also on constructions which are directly related to them (traction mains, engineering tracework, culverts, bridges, etc.). These buildings are also threatened by methane emissions.
