Failures of masonry buildings on unstable subsoil
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The process of designing, construction and use of buildings, incl. the masonry ones, on unstable subsoil is rather specific and depends on the type of territory, frequency and intensity of negative impacts. Occurrence of failures, typically failures in structural stability, is also rather specific. When reconstructing or demolishing such buildings, the general situation needs to be considered. The unstable soil includes: 1. Undermined territories. 2. Flood plains. 3. Territories with natural or technical seismicity. This publication deals with occurrence of failures in masonry buildings situated on the territories above. It also addresses possible improvements and repairs. The book is intended for experts interested in these topics - for designers, investors, supplies, scholars and students from faculties of civil engineering and of architecture.
