A design of waterproofing components incorporated in building structure elements is an essential problem of whole building construction industry. The state of the art embraces many solutions but there is still demand to improve current one and look for new one. The paper reports the results of experimental laboratory leakage tests that were conducted on a construction joint sealed with an overlaying bentonite mattress. Measurements of leakage were carried out on the physical model for a short length ofa construction joint. The measurements were performed for several variants of construction joint overlaying. The construction joint were subjected to the permanent hydrostatic water column of height 10 cm. The measured values of leak water volumes are processed into graphical relationships that document the time dependency of the construction joint leakage. The second result of the experiments is verification of the laboratory procedure to measure the leakage of a construction joint.
